The verse states: “He gave his own bread to the destitute.” The Talmud explains that this refers to Moses giving the Torah to the Jewish people. But every word of the verse is precise:
Her mother's warning would echo in her mind for years to come.
Moses sent spies to scout out the city of Ya’azer, which the Jews would have to cross in order to enter the Holy Land.
When it came to the Menorah in the Holy Temple, the commandment was to light it anew
every day; and to light it, as Rashi says, “until the flame could rise up on its own.”
As the will of the infinite and unknowable G-d, every mitzvah is essentially beyond understanding. Yet G-d clothed His commandments in "garments" of reason, so that not only our hands and feet but also our minds and heart should be involved in their fulfillment. This is true of every mitzvah, from the most esoteric "decree" to the most logical "law". The difference is only in the subtlety of the garment.
